Bend It Like Beckham was part of the line up that was shown at the Shangrila Plaza Cinema during a film festival sponsored by the British Council from way back. For some reason, I failed to watch a single movie during that particular filmfest even though I was a regular at those kind of events back in the day. I also have this film in my VCD (yes, remember them?) collection that I bought at one of those stalls in Quiapo during my wanderings. *wink-wink. But I never had the chance to watch it until tonight on HBO; I had a few laughs every now and then up until I dozed off in the couch. Ouch!
